Film#: 191 - America's Black Warriors; Two Wars to Win
Description
African American men have served in all of America's wars. This TV documentary shows their participation since the American Revolution. Jim Crow was alive in the military and Black Warriors were not trusted to carry out difficult tasks, instead they performed menial labor under the command of white officers. They suffered harsh treatment both in the service and when after their return home. The Tuskegee Airmen were finally formed by FDR and eventually the Armed Forces were integrated in 1948 by President Truman.
