Red Tailed AngelsDescription: This documentary short tells the moving story of the Tuskegee Airmen of WW II. In 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt created a highly controversial program which trained Black men as pilots at a time when Jim Crow segregation prevailed in the US, and no one believed Blacks were capable of flying. These young Black pilots formed the first Fighter Squadron of Black Pilots in the Air Force, the 99th Pursuit Squadron. They became war heroes, and their valiant war record showed the world that Blacks are equal to whites. Their discipline and courage ultimately led to the desegregation of the Armed Forces, in 1946. It is said that the Tuskegee Airmen fought and won two battles: one against Fascism in Europe, and the other against racism at home. Runtime: 00:22:00 This movie may be in multiple parts.
